Eating and Drinking
My three current favourite places to eat and drink:
The Marton Arms
Great pub food & good selection of ales, gins etc
They sometimes have live music. Also good for Sunday lunch. 15 mins walk from the house opposite direction the village, it is in a lovely location too opposite an old village church. Nice beer Garden. Booking advised.
The Old Post Office
Open Thurs-Sun evenings from 5.30pm
5 mins walk, in the village – Great Micro bar with fantastic range of gin, whiskey and wine with a lovely atmosphere. Its tiny so you need to book.
For breakfast – Bernies café – An Ingleton institution.
Cavers/climbers café which does fantastic value food and good quality full English with doorstop toast. Have live music on certain nights, see inside for details.
Other Great Places
Between Ingleton and Clapham on the A65
Great for lunch serving delicious flatbreads and an array of salads amongst other things.
(next door to The Old Post Office) – Tapas , Great Spanish style food, booking advised.
Italian and other things – Takeout pizza
(next to La Tavernetta near Coop) – We like the food its our favourite Indian takeout and they have a restaurant as well.
On the A65, that has nice food / Sunday lunch
In the village up past the Old Post Office. Serves pub food and has a good beer garden.
There’s also the Three Horsehoes and The Craven Heffer – Both serve food, when you walk up to the village turn right
7am-10pm, 5 mins walk away in the village
Do fresh croissants & bread daily and there’s an award winning bakery for pies, bread and cakes – 10 min walk away. Seasons Bakery
A short drive away is the village of Austwick, cute dales village with fanatstic pub. Booking is a must as its very popular and has nice easy walks from there and good mountain biking routes (ask David if you need ideas)
